Question: What are the costs of the Schrijver systeem®? Answer: This depends of two factors. Mainly the price is being determent by the amount of meters in which the system will be installed (the system will always be installed around the house in the outside walls). So basically depending whether you live in a terrace or a country house. Also the material which has been used to build your home plays a factor, normal brick versus natural stone. As a rule of thumb the installation of the Schrijver systeem® for homes will cost between £1500 and £4250 (€2000 and €6000). For an accurate price please contact one of our official dealers. Question: How long will it take to install the Schrijver systeem®? Answer: It will usually take between half a day and two days for a private house depending on the type of building and used material. Question: How long does it take before the walls of my home are dry? Answer: At the very moment the Schrijver systeem® is installed into the walls of your home, it starts working. Keep in mind it took many years (decades or even centuries!) for the walls to absorb moist, so it will take some time to get rid of it. First of all the water absorption process needs to be stopped, if this has been done, the system can start to withdraw the moist from the walls. Also the way the wall has been constructed plays a part, whether it's a cavity wall or a wall made out of natural stone (often filled with dirt). In general the first results will be seen after one year but for massive natural stoned walls two till three years or more are not unusual. Question: Why is too much cavity insulation creating a damp problem? Answer: Too much insulation impairs the walls ability to breathe and the wall will attract condensation. We will therefore remove the cavity insulation around the elements. Question: Our home is unoccupied during the winter months, are there any preventive measures I need to take? Answer: In order for the system to work at its best, the inside temperature of the house needs to be higher than the outside temperature. Question: Can the Schrijver systeem® be partially installed (i.e. only installed into the walls which are damp)? Answer: No. It is not possible to install the system partially. Installation will take place in the complete outside wall of the property, otherwise Schrijver systeem® will not be able to give the lifetime guarantee. Question: In what kind of natural stone can the Schrijver systeem® be installed? Answer: The Schrijver systeem® can be installed in most (if not all) natural stone found in Europe. We have not come across a type of natural stone in which the system could not be installed. Question: Can I order the Schrijver systeem® elements so I can install the system by myself? Answer: No. It is not possible to order the elements just by themselves. Installation will only take place through our qualified specialists, otherwise Schrijver systeem® will not be able to give the lifetime guarantee. Question: Can I order the Schrijver systeem® through retail channels? Answer: No. It is not possible to buy the Schrijver systeem® through retail channels or any other reseller. The Schrijver systeem® is a patented system (patent no.: EP0829587 ) which can only be sold and installed through its official dealer network. Sale or resale by other than the official Schrijver systeem® dealers is strictly prohibited. If this is unclear or you have questions about a reseller, please don't hesitate to contact one of our official dealers in Europe. Question: Do I need to be present when the Schrijver systeem® is being installed? Answer: It is not required to be present when the system is being installed, although you need to provide water (access to a tap for cooling of the diamond drills) and electricity. In general it's a good idea to leave a key with a neighbour or one of our fitters so we can inspect the walls for water pipes, electricity and drainage before we start drilling. Question: Am I allowed to paint the elements in the colour of my house? Answer: This is not a problem. You can paint the elements in any colour you like. Question: How do I maintain the Schrijver systeem®? Answer: The system is nearly maintenance free. Just use a little twig once a year to remove spider webs or other obstacles that might hinder airflow through the element. |
